Closer to home, Fort Casey State Park is barely a mile off, with historic gun batteries, the Admiralty Head Lighthouse, and a driftwood beach. Fort Ebey adds miles of forest and coastal trail about fifteen minutes north, and the bluff trail at Ebey's Landing is right there as well, serving up some of the finest views on the island: open water on one side, rolling farmland on the other. Push a little further and you'll find Greenbank Farm to the south and the bridge-spanned cliffs of Deception Pass State Park at the island's north end, roughly half an hour up SR 20. When you'd rather leave the island entirely, the Port Townsend ferry loads a couple of miles south.
