Hickory Run's boulder field and the lake beach at Tobyhanna State Park make good warm-weather outings, and Pocono Premium Outlets in Tannersville is there for the afternoon someone insists on shopping.
Winter Court works just as well for a February ski trip as it does for a July family reunion, and there's enough space that nobody gets stuck with the leftover bed.
